Linda Geenen discovered poker at a 5 Card Stud Table in Missoula, Montana, in 1979. She became a dealer and player in MT and started dealing major tournaments in 1987 in Las Vegas, Reno, and Tahoe, Nevada. Linda helped open The Mirage poker room in 1989, after a move to Las Vegas, and hit the Mississippi coast in 1993 to help open the Gulf Port Grand. Linda stayed on the coast for a year and returned to Vegas for a short stint of dealing at The Plaza, The Sahara, and The Gold Coast while waiting for an opening to return to The Mirage. From The Mirage she helped open Bellagio in 1998 and stayed there until she gave up the proverbial white shirt in 2007.

In 1999 Linda started PokerWorks.com and has the dubious honor of being the first-ever poker blogger which started a trend in blogging for a number of years. The premier edition of All In Magazine (May/June 2004) ran an article on The Viral Phenomenon of Poker Blogs by Henry HDOUBLE Wasserman and Lindas Blog at PokerWorks was first on the list.

Linda became the editor and content manager of PokerWorks.com when the site was incorporated into the PokerNews family and still maintains that position along with writing content for PokerNews.com. Her first project at PokerNews was writing A Look at House Rules for Learn.PokerNews.com.

Perhaps an interview by PokerNews.coms Earl Burton in 2005 best sums up Lindas background and view of poker as it interacts with people and life. In her words, Poker is a game of people played with cards.
