Online Poker Weekend: Two-outer Keys 'grimmy101' Win 0001

Two million-dollar prize pools were on the line Sunday night as Full Tilt rolled out its one-a-month $500+35 version of its premiere weekly event. The bumped up purse at Full Tilt joined the regular PokerStars Sunday Million (and that event's $1.5 million guarantee) in highlighting another busy night of play. "Iceman1278" claimed top honors in the Stars Sunday Million, while "grimmy101" triumphed at Full Tilt, claiming over $216,000 in the weekend's biggest online tournament payday. Here's how the play unfolded:

PokerStars Sunday Million

The PokerStars Sunday Million saw 8,001 participants hoping to reach the final table and take down the tournament. Notable finishes outside that final table included SpotLIGHT19 in 10th ($8,001), Steve "stolz" Stolzmann in 19th ($3,200.40), Jeff "jpa_25" Anderson in 36th ($2,880) and Bjorn-Erik "Hikkespett" Glenne in 43rd ($2,720). These were the chip counts as the final table began:

bayleesmom 17,209,285

Iceman1278 13,610,483

Juan Maceiras "vietcong01" Barros 13,521,196

Jamie "TheCronic420" Rosen 9,472,220

TJ "WhatArunAA" Slifka 7,955,854

JLande 6,975,660

Simon "pokerbrat13" Charette 5,343,928

kendog39 2,967,891

Brendan42 2,953,483

The first to exit the final table was kendog39, during the 150,000/300,000/30,000 level. From the button, bayleesmom raised to 1,200,000, and kendog39 called from the small blind, executing a stop-and-go when the flop came J?9?8?. Kendog39's all-in bet was for 1,287,891 and bayleesmom called with A?A?, which led kendog39's 4?4?. The turn and river came K? and 10? and kendog39 was out in ninth place for $11,201.40. Simon "pokerbrat13" Charette was sent to the rail next, at 200,000/400,000/40,000. He shoved from middle position for 3,233,928 with J?10?, but ran into Iceman1278's A?A?. A third ace fell on the flop and Charette was eliminated in eighth place for $18,402.30.

JLande busted a few hands later, after shipping it in from the button for over 4,000,000 with A?4? and finding action from Brendan42, who waited in the big blind with J?J?. The board rolled out 6?7?9?10?4? and JLande pocketed $28,003.50 for seventh place. Juan Maceiras "vietcong01" Barros was the last casualty at this level. He raised under the gun to 1,200,000 and Iceman1278 called out of the big blind. The flop came 9?3?5? and the chips made it into the middle. Iceman1278 held just J?3?, but it was the best hand as Barros tabled A?J?. Iceman1278 never caught up, earning $40,805.10 for the sixth-place showing.

At 300,000/600,000/60,000, TJ "WhatArunAA" Slifka met his tournament end. A raising war preflop led to Slifka being at risk with A?6? against Brendan42's J?J?. The cards fell 3?9?Q?2?K? and Slifka finished in fifth place for $56,807.10. Three hands later bayleesmom exited, too. First to act. bayleesmom went all in for 13,571,112 and Jamie "TheCronic420" Rosen re-shoved to isolate. Rosen's J?J? led bayleesmom's A?10? and when the board rolled out 3?6?4?8?Q?, bayleesmom was out in fourth place for $72,809.10. A potential deal was briefly discussed between the final three players, but terms were not reached.

Brendan42 would wind up finishing in third place. After Brendan42 opened the pot to 1,700,000 on the button, Jamie Rosen re-rasied to 4,823,880 in the big blind. Brendan42 called and the flop came 8?10?3?. Rosen led out 3,827,779 and Brendan42 shoved for 12,355,537. Rosen quickly called with J?J? and had Brendan42's 4?4? dominated. The J? turn card sealed the hand as Brendan42 exited in third place for $89,611.20.

Heads-up play began with Rosen holding more than a 2:1 chip lead, but Iceman1278 emerged with the win. After several double-ups and lead changes, Iceman1278 put it away at the 500,000/1,000,000/100,000 level. A limped pot brought a 3?K?7? flop; both players checked and the K? fell on the turn. Iceman1278 checked and Rosen bet 1,658,880. Iceman1278 min-raised and Rosen called, which brought the 6? on the river. Iceman1278 bet enough to set Rosen all in and Rosen called with 9?7?, but his pair of sevens was beaten by Iceman1278's K?6? for two pair. Jamie "TheCronic420" Rosen took home $132,176.52 for finishing as the runner-up, while iceman1278 collected $196,024.50 for winning the PokerStars Sunday Million.

Final Results:

1. Iceman1278 - $196,024.40

2. Jamie "TheCronic420" Rosen - $132,176.52

3. Brendan42 - $89,611.20
