The action at the Full Tilt Poker high-stakes tables between Tuesday and Thursday saw quite a bit of action. On Wednesday, both Phil Ivey and Phil OMGClayAiken Galfond made unexpected appearances along with Brian Hastings, Andreas "skjervoy" Torbergsen and Brian Townsend. However, the biggest action was had between Daniel jungleman12 Cates and Ilari Ziigmund Sahamies in a 300-hand match at the $200/$400 pot-limit Omaha, which saw Cates end $301,000 winner.

Ziigmund Flops a Set but Loses to the Flopped Straight of Cates

Ilari Ziigmund Sahamies was playing heads up against Daniel jungleman12 Cates at the $200/$400 PLO tables on Wednesday when the following hand developed. Cates ($128,374) was on the button and raised to $1,200. Sahamies ($42,599.50) opted to raise to $3,600 from the big blind and Cates made the call. The flop came down 3?2?6? and Sahamies checked to Cates, who bet $4,000. Sahamies raised to $19,200 and Cates responded by raising to $60,800, enough to put Sahamies all in if he made the call, which is exactly what he did.

Sahamies: 6?A?3?3?
Cates: 8?4?5?2?

Sahamies had flopped middle set but was still behind the flopped straight of Cates. Sahamies was looking to pair the board but couldnt do it as the 9? hit the turn and 5? appeared on the river. Cates took down the $85,000 pot and added to Ziigmunds midweek woes. In fact, over the course of the 300-hand match, Sahamies lost 2.5 big blinds per hand, which was clearly a sign that he was not running well.

Phil Ivey Wins $199K Pot Against Ziigmund

In Wednesday's biggest hand, Phil Ivey was playing $200/$400 PLO, five-handed against Phil Galfond, Ilari Ziigmund Sahamies , Brian Hastings, and DrugsOrMe. In the hand, action folded to Ivey ($121,970) on the button and he raised to $1,200. Hastings ($106,423) raised to $4,350 from the small blind, Sahamies ($97,252.50) called from the big, and Ivey came along. Hastings checked the 4?6?6? flop and Sahamies bet $13,400, which only Ivey called. When the 8? hit the turn, Sahamies check to Ivey who bet $33,000. Sahamies opted to move all in for $79,502.50 and Ivey called, which created a pot worth $199,000!

Sahamies: 6?9?A?Q?
Ivey: 7?5?4?3?

Ivey had made a straight and was ahead; however, Sahamies had a plethora of outs to both a flush and full house. In fact, Ivey was only an 11-9 winner to fade the draw. The river was only run once and it was the 3?. Sahamies had missed and Ivey took down the biggest pot of the day.

Big Preflop Action Between the Aces of Sahamies Against Galfonds Kings

In this hand, Ilari Ziigmund Sahamies ($79,767) was in the big blind and DrugsOrMe ($63,518) raised to $1,110 under the gun. Phil Galfond ($85,368) was next to act and called. After the button called and the small blind folded, Sahamies raised to $6,170. DrugsOrMe called and Galfond suddenly raised to $27,520! From there, the button folded, Sahamies moved all in, DrugsOrMe got out of the way, and Galfond called.

Galfond: K?K?5?9?
Sahamies: A?A?J?Q?

It was the classic kings versus aces preflop as the flop fell 7?4?4?. Galfond was in bad shape and the 2? on the turn didnt help matters. He would need a king on the river to take the pot, but it was not meant to be as the 5? appeared. Sahamies, who wasnt running well during the midweek, managed to win this pot worth $167,291.
