The 2011 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure got off to a fast and furious start yesterday with the $100,000 Super High Roller event kicking off. Friday was Day 2 of the event and 23 players returned from the starting field of 38. Less than six hours went by before the final table was set and the end of the day was reached. Moving into Day 3 as the chip leader will be World Poker Tour champion and World Series of Poker bracelet winner Nick Schulman.

Some of the players returning for Day 2 included Justin Smith, Phil Laak, Antonio Esfandiari, Sorel Mizzi and David Benyamine. All of them failed to make it through the day and will be relegated to the beaches of Paradise Island for the time being.

Also hitting the rail on Day 2 was Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier. He ran his pocket queens into Schulmans two aces and that was the end of his tournament.

Shawn Buchanan ran his pocket tens into Humberto Brenes' queens to bust, and Andrew Robl had his kings cracked by ace-six to shrink the field to the final two tables. Matt Glantz was also eliminated after falling victim to a pair-vs.-pair confrontation.

Leading the way into Day 2 was 2010 EPT Grand Final High Roller winner Tobias Reinkemeier. He would eventually fall after a rough day on the felt that saw him doubling up several players and losing some very key hands. In his final hand, Reinkemeier squeezed all in from the big blind after Schulman had raised and Vivek Rajkumar flat-called. Schulman flatted the shove, but then Rajkumar reraised all-in. Schulman snapped off that shove as he held a monster, A?A?. Rajkumar held pocket tens and Reinkemeier the A?J?. From there, the board ran out clean for Schulman who became the new chip leader.

Along with Schulman, another player who had a great day on the felt was Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu. He was the one who busted Benyamine with two kings while taking over 500,000 chips off Eugene Katchalov in a side pot that allowed him to get up around the two-million chip mark.

When James Obst and Daniel jungleman12 Cates were eliminated simultaneously on the final table bubble, the book was closed on Day 2. Schulman is still leading, but this seven-handed final table figures to have plenty of surprises in store. Here's how they'll be laid out when they return Saturday to play for the title and a whopping $1.5 million for first place:
