Day 2 of the World Poker Tour Seminole Hard Rock Showdown concluded on Thursday with another four levels of play. Registration stayed open overnight until the start of play on Thursday and 27 more players joined in on the action to bring the total field to 433 entrants. At the end of the day, 145 players remained with Todd Terry topping them all with 296,400 in chips. Charles Wiper and Steven Levy rounded out the top three with 273,100 and 247,300, respectively.

It was in Level 9 with the blinds at 400/800 with a 100 ante that Terry took the chip lead. According to the WPT Live Update Team, an early-position player raised to 2,000 before Brandon Steven called from middle position and Terry called from the hijack. The three players were the only ones to see the flop come 6?5?2?. The initial raiser was up first and checked. Steven bet 3,700 and then Terry raised to 12,000 even. The first player then check-raised all in for a little over 80,000.

Wow, said Steven as he thought for a minute or so before giving it up. Terry instantly made the call holding the 4?3?. His opponent tabled the A?A?. The turn brought the 3? and the river the 6?, keeping Terrys flopped straight as the winning hand and moving him to about 250,000 in chips.

While Terry, Wiper and Levy may have thrived on the day, there were of course those who saw all their chips disappear. A few of those players to bust on Day 2 include Mohsin Charania, Joe Tehan, Kathy Liebert and William Reynolds. Charania went out after he ran pocket queens into Bryan Colins pocket aces, failing to improve. Reynolds hit the rail at the hands of Anthony Spinella.

Reynolds was all in preflop for his last 8,000 during Level 9 against Spinella. Reynolds held A?J? and was dominating the A?10? of Spinella, but it didnt matter. The board ran out A?6?5?3?K? to give Spinella a heart flush and send Reynolds out the door.

A few of the other notables moving on to Day 3 are Jason Koon (207,700), Tommy Vedes (152,600), Sam Stein (131,000), Adam Levy (118,700), Lauren Kling (95,200) and Bryn Kenney (93,800). All of them are above average. Another notable above average is Day 1 chip leader Randy Dorfman, who wrapped up the day with 164,000 in chips.
