Mark Kroon & Phil Helmuth

In its first two years, the Phil Hellmuths Holdem with Agrace HospiceCare Charity Poker Event raised $250,000 for the patients and families of South-Central Wisconsin. This year the event has been moved up from the winter months to Saturday, Aug. 18 and will include poker personalities Jerry Yang, Mark P0ker H0 Kroon, Gavin Smith and Annette Obrestad.

In addition to a golf outing, silent auction, and raffle, a poker tournament will be held that will allow attendees to take on Hellmuth, the aforementioned pros, and a mix of local celebrities including musicians Scott Ian and Ben Sidran; Olympian Casey FitzRandolph; Madison Mayor Paul Soglin; Wisconsin State Journals Doug Moe; NBC 15s Leigh Mills, Charlie Shortino and Carleen Wild; and Amazing Race winners Dave and Rachel Brown, just to name a few.

Phil is a great guy, hes a popular guy. I think hes doing a great thing for the community, especially for the Hospice people, said Yang, winner of the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event. I used to work in a nursing home, and I know what its like for a family to go through Hospice. Its a passion of mine to support something like that, so Im really looking forward to coming and supporting this event.

All proceeds from the event will go to Agrace HospiceCare, though participants will have a chance to win a seat to the 2013 World Series of Poker and a two-year lease of a 2012 Honda Fit from Zimbrick both of which will be a part of the raffle.

Agrace HospiceCare is a nonprofit, community-based hospice dedicated. It offers support to patients and families and is nationally recognized for it's "comprehensive in-home, inpatient, respite, and residential care."
