World Poker Tour Announces $100,000 Alpha8 Event in St. Kitts November 16-17

On Monday, the World Poker Tour announced another addition to the Alpha8 tour, the company's newly-launched super high-roller series. Taking place Nov. 16-17, the Alpha8 will head to the Caribbean island of St. Kitts for a televised $100,000 buy-in event.

The event will be hosted at St. Kitts Marriott Resort & Royal Beach Casino in Christophe Harbour, St. Kitts, and plans to attract some of poker's biggest and richest names. Of those confirmed are Paul Newey, Dan Bilzerian, Philipp Gruissem, Tobias Reinkemeier, and Erik Seidel.

"St. Kitts is the perfect setting in which to watch some of the boldest amateur players put their games to the test against the highest-profile professionals," said WPT President Adam Pliska in the press release. "The island��s unspoiled tropical beauty will also provide for compelling television in a tropical environment that is both relaxed and inspiring for those seeking a glimpse into this exclusive and exotic lifestyle."

One of the players who will also be in attendance is resident high roller Bill Perkins. "I look forward to hosting some of poker��s highest rollers in my second home,�� Perkins said. "Being able to enjoy my hobby and hone my skills alongside these pro players, all near the natural beauty and warm waters of St. Kitts, will be brilliant."

Taking place immediately following the St. Kitts Alpha8 event will be the World Poker Tour Caribbean in St. Maarten, another stunning island just over 50 miles away. The WPT Caribbean will play host to a $3,500 Main Event running Nov. 19-24 and the $7,000 Lucky Number 7 High Roller running Nov. 22-24 and hosted by Reinkemeier.

According to the release, all WPT Alpha8 players are eligible for special, discounted room rates at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort & Royal Beach Casino, starting at just $179 per night.
