The European Poker Tour Sanremo festival has announced a date change and will now take place April 10-20, 2014. This is a slight bump back as the original dates were scheduled for April 6-16. The flagship tournament of the series, the 5,300 Main Event, will now take place April 14-20.

The move now puts the EPT Sanremo festival even closer to the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo? Casino European Poker Tour Grand Final that will take place in Monaco April 23-May 3. This means that players can travel from one festival to the other with minimum downtime and enjoy a solid three weeks of poker along the beautiful coast of the Mediterranean Sea.

Monte Carlo, Monaco, where the EPT Grand Final will take place, is located approximately 30 miles from Sanremo, making for a very convenient, quick trip for players.

Additionally, the European Poker Tour will be joining forces with the Italian Poker Tour for the Sanremo event to create an even larger festival of poker. The event will now follow a similar 11-day format as other EPT events Barcelona, London, Prague, and Deauville.

Last season, Ludovic Lacay won the EPT Sanremo Main Event for 744,910 after defeating a field of 797 players. Each year, this event proves to be one of the largest in the world, and it is surely one that any poker player won't want to miss.
