The World Series of Poker Circuit originally had a stop planned for the Horseshoe Casino in Cleveland, but now that venue has been switched out for a brand-new stop at Lumire Place from March 20-31, which marks the Circuits return to St. Louis after a one-year hiatus.

We are excited and honored to host our first-ever WSOP event at Lumire Place, said Jeff Babinski, Vice President and General Manager of Lumire Place. Our casino is well-suited to host this prestigious event as were right in the heart of downtown St. Louis. Lumire Place already features an action-packed poker room and were ready for the added excitement that the WSOP event will bring.

The St. Louis WSOP Circuit stop, which was previously held at the former Harrahs St. Louis that Caesars Entertainment sold in 2012, will feature the standard 12 Rings in 12 Days event schedule and award two automatic seats into the season-ending WSOP National Championship in Atlantic City in May.

The decision to switch was made after it the WSOP determined the space originally conceptualized to host the WSOP Circuit Cleveland was not sufficient for the guest experience the property and the WSOP both desire and require. The WSOP Circuit still hopes to make Horseshoe Cleveland a stop in the future.

We are pleased to be able to return a signature event to the great poker community in St. Louis, said WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart. Were thrilled that Lumire Place management was so passionate about bringing the WSOP back to St. Louis. With their experience running large poker tournaments and a luxurious destination, we are confident they will put on one of the Midwests premier poker festivals.

Lumire Place is a 75,000-square-foot casino in downtown St. Louis with the hottest slot machines, table games, and a dedicated poker room in addition to numerous restaurant and nightlife options. It also includes Lumire Link, a 400-foot tunnel featuring two sections of moving walkway that provides an easy and secure pedestrian link between St. Louis central business district, the Lumire Place resort and the Mississippi Riverfront.

Recently, the WSOP announced another change to its events by moving the WSOP Asia-Pacific from April to October. You can read more about that change and the future plan for international WSOP events by clicking here.
