MPN Vienna 2016

The Microgaming Poker Network (MPN) recently announced that its first stop of the MPN Poker Tour in 2016 will take place from Jan. 21-24 at the Montesino Casino in Vienna, Austria.

The poker festival is highlighted by the four-day MPN Pokertour Austria Main Event, which features two opening days on Jan. 21 and Jan. 22. The tournament provides great value for just about any poker player with a reasonable 550 buy-in, along with a healthy 200,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Additionally, lower-stakes players can get involved in the MPN Poker Tour Austria with a fun side events that only cost 150 to enter.

Our event in Dublin had a huge prize pool of 256,500 and we expect to beat that with the Vienna festival.

Poker players have the opportunity to buy directly into the Main Event or purchase a package in any MPN supported online poker room. Additionally, poker sites on the network are already hosting satellites and sub-satellites starting at just 0.25, where players can win a seat to the Main Event or a package at the fraction of the cost.

The MPN Poker Tour Austria package is valued at 1,500 and includes the following:

  • Entry into the 550 Main Event (200,000 Guaranteed)
  • Entry into the 150 Side Event
  • Accommodation for four nights at the Roomz Hotel, Vienna including breakfast
  • A welcome drinks reception where you can meet the other players and the MPN staff
  • 425 towards your travel and expenses

If the last stop in Dublin is any indication, the Main Event has a good chance of surpassing the posted 200,000 guarantee. Back in September, the MPN Pokertour Dublin Main Event attracted 570 players, generating a 256,500 prize pool. When the final cards were dealt in that tournament, it was England's Daniel Tighe coming out on top, winning a 53,845 top prize.

Head of Poker at Microgaming Alex Scott believes that the next MPN Pokertour in Austria will be even bigger than the last stop in Dublin stating, "Our event in Dublin had a huge prize pool of 256,500 and we expect to beat that with the Vienna festival."
