Fadi Haddad Takes Chip Lead into Day 2 of The Wild $150 at the Playground Poker Club Fall Classic

After four starting flights, the field is set in Event #1: The Wild $150 at the 2016 Playground Poker Club Fall Classic. Day 1d began at 7 p.m. Tuesday inside the world-renowned Kahnawake, Quebec poker room where another 373 hopefuls piled into the tournament room, their final chance at making Day 2.

Just 78 players were left at the end of the 14 levels scheduled to play on Day 1d. The biggest stack in the room belonged to high-end cake bakery owner, Fadi Haddad, who will also carry the overall chip lead into Day 2, bagging 330,500. Haddad was miles ahead of his closest competitor of the day, Linda Huard, with 226,500. Martin Goulet (220,000), Glenn Sauve (206,500) and Jacques Bigonesse (198,500) rounded out the top of the leaderboard.

An impressive 1,198 total entries were received for the first event of the Fall Classic, smashing the $100,000 guarantee. When registration closed on Tuesday, a prize pool of $156,878 had been created. The Wild $150 structure is always well received at Playground as it gives players the chance to win big money for a small buy-in.

With over $150,000 to fight for, 117 places will make the money. The eventual champion will walk away with a first-place prize of $28,000 and the trophy.

A few notables still in the mix include 2016 Canadian Grand Prix champion Richard Figiel (70,500), World Poker Tour (WPT) Canadian Spring Championship runner-up Ruben Perceval (54,500) and 2015 Deepstacks Poker Tour Championship Calgary winner Rodney Ramalho (41,700).

Day 2 is set to kick off at 7 p.m. on Nov. 2 inside Playground Poker Club. A total of 265 players are still left in the hunt. Another 12 levels are scheduled for play before bagging for the finale on Day 3.
