The World Series of Poker is more than just a 74-event series. Over the seven-week poker festival in Las Vegas, the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino is also host to 24-hour cash games, single-table satellites, mega-satellites, and the ever-popular Daily Deepstacks tournaments.

The Daily Deepstacks were introduced in 2010 as a more affordable option for players looking to participate in the WSOP. Although no bracelets are up for grabs in these events, many consider them to be among the best value in Las Vegas, offering top prizes as high as $70,000 since the tournaments began seven years ago.

This summer, Daily Deepstacks events will take place inside the massive Rio Pavilion (pictured above) and the Rio Convention Center almost every day at 2 p.m., 5 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. The tournaments (excluding the $365 Turbo) will feature 30-minute levels with 25/50 blinds to start and unlimited re-entries through the fourth level.

Daily Deepstacks Schedule

  • 2 p.m. - $235 No-Limit Holdem
  • 5 p.m. - $185 No-Limit Holdem
  • 7 p.m. - $365 Turbo No-Limit Holdem (Accelerated Format)
  • 9 p.m. - $135 No-Limit Holdem

The Daily Deepstacks certainly live up to their name and allow for a lot of play early on, but the blinds catch up quickly near the money bubble. By the time players reach the final table early in the morning, most stacks are short and the tournament turns into a shove-fest, resulting in a lot of deal-making.

WSOP Daily Deepstacks have proven in the past to be a great way to build a bankroll and ignite your poker career. In 2012, for example, Nick Jivkov landed in Vegas on May 29 and later that day won the $235 Daily Deepstack event for $21,200. The following day, he used some of his winnings to enter the $1,500 Pot-Limit Hold'em event and went on to win his first WSOP bracelet along with $189,818.

The fields are loaded with pros and novices, and you may even see some world champions enter the mix during the summer. Chris Moneymaker and Greg Raymer have both played in Daily Deepstacks $235 events over the years.

Registration for the Daily Deepstacks can be found inside the Pavilion Room where you will need your Total Rewards Player Card to sign up for an event. For more information, visit WSOP.com.
