Sam Washburn wins WSOP Circuit Horseshoe Tunica Main Event
The 2018 World Series of Poker Circuit called the Horseshoe Tunica home for the past 12-days and during this time the tour awarded 12 coveted gold WSOP rings.
Sam Washburn was the biggest winner of the WSOPC Horseshoe Tunica festival thanks to him triumphing in the $1,675 Main Event for $188,086.

A prize pool of $895,500 was created when 597 players paid $1,675 for the chance to become a WSOP Circuit champion. The lion��s share of that pot is now in the hands of Sam Washburn, a retired 57-year-old hailing from a small town in Arkansas after he topped one of the toughest final tables in the tour��s history.
Four players at the final table had won 15 WSOP Circuit rings between them, a WSOP bracelet, and enjoyed combined cashes of more than $4 million at the WSOP. Those players were Nick Pupillo (eighth), Jake Bazeley (sixth), Kyle Cartwright (5th), and Scott Stewart (second).
The final hand of the tournament came after Stewart had begun mounting a fightback and had doubled his stack twice in a row from 70,000 to 270,000 chips. Stewart looked down at king-jack and moved all-in from the button. Washburn called with a pair of jacks and when the five community cards ran out ace-high without a king in sight, Stewart bust from the Main Event and Washburn was announced as the tournament��s champion.
Finishing second was tough for Stewart. Being the runner-up is always hard to take in a poker tournament, but in Stewart��s case, he was even more disappointed because he finished third in this tournament last year. Perhaps a victory will be in the cards for Stewart during 2019?
This was Washburn��s first cash at the WSOP. He will have another chance to win big later this year because Washburn also won a 2018 Global Casino Championship (GCC) entry along with his $188,068 prize and WSOP Circuit ring. Stewart will be a familiar face for Washburn to see because Stewart also won a GCC entry for winning the Casino Championship in Tunica.

The WSOP Circuit now heads to Potawatomi from Feb. 1-Feb. 12 and also to Seminole Casino Coconut Creek between Feb. 08-19 and to the Rio Las Vegas from Feb. 16-27.
