Scotlands Geilich was one of 1,716 entrants who played across four starting flights in the 1,100 buy-in 1 million guaranteed event. Some 207 players received prize money for their efforts, with a min-cash worth 2,700 and a final table appearance boosting that sum to a more substantial 15,000.

Some of those who made it into the money places included Andrew stato_1 Hulme (188th for 3,000), Martin Jacobson (185th for 3,000), Darryll Fish (143rd for 3,500), Team partypokers Anatoly Filatov (130th for 4,000), Maria Ho (128th for 4,000), Jason Wheeler (119th for 4,000), Team partypokers Richard Dubini (88th for 4,750), Anthony Spinella (37th for 6,500), and Alex Goulder (28th for 6,500).

Finlands Jani Vilmunen was the first casualty of the final table and he walked away with 15,000. Vilmunen is a World Series of Poker bracelet winner having taken down the 5,250 Pot-Limit Omaha event at the 2009 WSOP Europe in London.

Next to fall was Portugals Rodrigo Jose Mendes Alexandre and he was followed to the cashiers cage by Mauricio Sanchez and Belgiums Christophe De Meulder whose 38,250 haul represents his best-ever live score.

Dutchman Martijn Gerrits also got his hands on his largest live poker tournament score when he collected 54,870 for his fifth-place finish and the same can be said for Hungarys Balasz Biri who banked 75,000 for his fourth-place finish.

Third-place and 105,000 went to Denmarks Rasmus Vogt who now has more than $500,000 in live poker tournament winnings. Vogt finished fourth in a 1,100 partypoker LIVE Eurasian Poker Tour event for 45,000 in December 2017.

Heads-up pitted Geilich against the talented Joey Weissman. A WSOP bracelet winner after taking down a $2,500 No-Limit Holdem event at the 2012 WSOP, Weissman proved to be a tough opponent for Geilich but an opponent who Geilich eventually brushed aside to leave Weissman to collect the 155,000 consolation prize.

With this latest victory, the seventh of his career, Geilich has broken through the $2.1 million barrier for live tournament winnings, an impressive figure that is surely only going to rise in the coming months.

Apr. 11 sees Day 1a and Day 1b of the 10 million guaranteed Main Event begin, Day 3 of the Warm Up play out and the 100,000 Super High Roller crown its champion. Stay tuned to PokerNews throughout the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Grand Final festival for regular live updates.
