Global Poker x PokerNews Cup Main Event Starts June 30
For those who've been grinding away at the Global Poker x PokerNews Cup online poker series, you're probably already gearing up for the Main Event, which takes place June 30 on the social poker site.
But if you haven't yet competed in the series, there's still plenty of action to be had, starting with the aforementioned Main Event, the biggest tournament of the series for both Gold Coins (GC) and Sweeps Coins (SC) players.
PokerNews Cup Main Event Details
The Main Event starts at 4:00 p.m. ET on Sunday for both the GC and SC tournaments. On the Gold Coins side, the entry is GC 55,000 with a GC 20,000,000 guarantee. And on the Sweeps Coins side, the entry is SC 55 with SC 55,000 guaranteed.
The name of the game is no-limit hold'em, and the winner of the event will take home a sweet PokerNews Cup trophy. This is a super deep tournament structure, which means it will be a grind, and a true battle to become champion, just the way most online poker players desire.
Players will start with 20,000 chips and those who register at the start will begin at the 30/60 blind levels, 333 big blinds deep. Blinds will increase every 10 minutes, and starting stacks will still be 100 big blinds deep six levels into the tournament. Global Poker is offering some serious value in this PokerNews-partnered event.
The series began June 17 with the first of 34 tournaments (17 GC and 17 SC), and will conclude with the Main Event.
