Biography

Joey Ingram is a poker player and personality from the United States. Known as "Chicago Joey" or "BigPapi," Ingram is a well-respected and upstanding member of the poker community.

Ingram began his online poker career playing No-Limit Hold'em before switching to Pot-Limit Omaha; Ingram mostly plays cash games online, although he is known to dabble in poker tournaments. In 2010, Ingram embarked on a volume-based challenge where he would have to play 50,000 hands in 24 hours and make a profit. He offered 2.5-to-1 odds, and ultimately profited $800 in 50,000 hands, but pulled in more than $30,000 from prop bets.

After progressing to $25/$50 PLO cash games, Ingram's career looked to have been cut short when Black Friday happened. Ingram moved to Vancouver, Canada, to continue playing online poker. After spending two years in Canada, Ingram returned to the United States, where he began focusing on content creation.

Ingram started his "joeingram1" YouTube channel in 2007, and it has since exploded into one of the most popular poker-related channels on the platform, with over 150,000 subscribers. Ingram's distinctive interviewing style, where he is not afraid to ask challenging, hard-hitting questions, has resulted in some excellent interviews with some of the poker's biggest stars.

Ingram has also performed the role of an investigative journalist, with the Mike Postle cheating allegations being particularly well-received by the poker community. He has also interviewed the likes of Bryn Kenney when Kenney stood accused of large-scale cheating, and Robbie Jade Lew in the aftermath of "that" jack-four hand against Garrett Adelstein.

In June 2024, Ingram officially partnered with GTO Wizard as one of the poker training partners, where he is embarking on "a pursuit of poker mastery." Ingram is working with the GTO Wizard team on a range of projects, including an ongoing video series called "Becoming a GTO Wizard."
