Kitai Plays Aces Cautiously

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Vladimir Troyanovski had broken through the 400k barrier but is back under that mark after he lost a pot to Davidi Kitai and his pocket aces.

The action folded around to Troyanovski on the button and he raised to 11,000. Kitai was in the big blind and three-bet to 28,000.

Troyanovski called and also called a 22,000 c-bet on the {j-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop. No more made their way forward as both players checked down the {j-Spades}{9-Spades} turn and river.

Kitai opened {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} and Troyanovski mucked.

Jacobson Freerolling on a 100K

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Martin Jacobson
Martin Jacobson

Somehow Martin Jacobson is still in this tournament despite running kings into the aces of Kevin MacPhee.

Jacobson was just moved onto the table and three-bet a MacPhee button raise whilst in the big blind. MacPhee called pre flop, a flop bet and a 36,000 turn bet before both players checked the river. The final board read {8-Clubs}{q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}.

Jacobson opened {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds} and a shocked MacPhee opened {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}.

"Nits!", "Wow!", and "Sick!" came out of the mouths of the other table mates.

The pot went to MacPhee who's up to 320,000; Jacobson dropped to 108,000.

Ktorza Cimbs with the aid of Metalidi's Chips

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Artem Metalidi has been eliminated from the High Roller, his tournament coming to an end after a clash with Philippe Ktorza.

Metalidi got his chips in from the button holding {10-Spades}{8-Clubs} and Ktorza called with {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}. Neither player improved on the {3-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{X-} board, Ktorza's queen-high enough to bust out Metaldi.

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Paul Berende
Paul Berende

Paul Berende and Adrian Mateos have been involved in back-to-back hands with each other and it is the former who emerged on top on both occasions.

The first hand saw Mateos open to 9,000, Berende move all-in next to act and Mateos fold what looked like {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}. Berende showed the {A-Hearts}.

The following hand, Mateos opened to 9,000 again and Berende put up some resistance. Berende opted to three-bet to 22,000 and Mateos got out of the way and folded.

Davidi Kitai is on the charge yet again as he banished Roman Korenev from the tournament.

All le chips went in preflop and the cards were on their backs.

Kitai: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Korenev: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran {5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{7-Spades}{k-Diamonds} to see the Belgian's hand hold.

Korenev was gracious in defeat and shook Kitai's hand before making his exit.

Ruzicka's Great Call Goes Unrewarded

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Poker can be a cruel game at times, as Vojtech Ruzicka no doubt knows. Ruzicka has just made a great call in a hand involving Andras Nemeth that went unrewarded and resulted in him losing a large percentage of his stack.

The action passed around to Roman Korenev on the button and the Russian raised to 8,000. Ruzicka was in the small blind and he three-bet to 21,500 only to see Nemeth, in the big blind, four-bet all-in for what turned out to be 106,500. Korenev got out of the way but Ruzicka exhaled loudly and studied his now sole opponent. After 45 seconds, Ruzicka called.

Ruzicka: {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Nemeth: {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

Ruzicka thought he was ahead and he was right, but how that would change. The {3-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop gave Nemeth an open-ended straight draw and although the {Q-Diamonds} was no help to him, the {2-Spades} completed Nemeth's straight and Ruzicka handed over half of his stack.
