Three Bust to Create Final Table, Souki Leads

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

After Andrea Volpi and Demetris Triantapillou both busted in short succession, Kevin Allen moved all-in for his final eight big blinds with {Q-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and was called by Enzo Del Piero in the big blind with pocket nines. They held to send Allen home on the brink of the final.

"I got sic shoves through early on," Allen told us, "To be honest, it's hard to be out of the door after being all-in and at risk for the first time in my tournament, but I knew I was going to get called sooner or later. It happens."

With nine players left, Philippe Souki has the chip-lead. We'll be back after a short break with the chip-counts and re-draw for seating positions.

Mihu Flops the Flush

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

Cristian Mihu and Sam Grafton tangled on a board of {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{A-Spades}{J-Hearts} and it was Cristian Mihu who came out on top.

Grafton held {5-}{4-} and he called a long way, but Cristian Mihu had flopped the flush with {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and he chips up at Grafton's expense.

Kara Scott Eliminated in 13th Place (3,010)

Kara Scott
Kara Scott

Kara Scott opened to 35,000 and Philippe Souki raised to 80,000. The Team 888Poker ambassador re-raised all-in for her stack of around 340,000 and Souki called it off.

Kara Scott: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Philippe Souki: {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}

The board of {3-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs} saw Scott eliminated in 13th place, an unlucky end to a great run through the 288-entry field.

Souki Wins Huge Pot from Lopez

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

Philippe Souki won a huge pot from Jose Lopez after making a full house on the river. The board of {4-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{J-Spades}{3-Clubs}{3-Hearts} saw Jose Lopez bet 85,000, but Philippe Souki made it 225,000 and when Chattha tank-folded, Lopez's call with pocket queens was bad. Souki held {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and that full house has seen him to become chip leader.

Grafton Grans Some Back from Del Piero

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante
Sam Grafton
Sam Grafton

Enzo Del Piero and Sam Grafton have clashed again in a big pot where Grafton has taken a chunk from his opponent.

Pre-flop, Grafton was the aggressor, opening to 38,000 from middle position. Del Piero called on the button, then made it 51,000 on a turn of {K-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades}{J-Spades} after both men had checked the flop. Grafton eyed the bet.

"Did I make it too small?" the Londoner asked.

Grafton silently appraised the action, before raising to 165,000. It was Del Piero's turn to fall silent, and he let go of his hand.

Tony Doggett Eliminated in 14th Place (3,010)

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Tony Doggett shoved in the small blind for around 14 big blinds and he was called by Andrea Volpi in the big blind.

Doggett held {Q-Spades}{J-Spades} and would need help against Volpi's {A-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} .

The flop brought a jack, but an ace on the river sent Doggett home.

With 13 players left, who'll be lucky enough to reach the final table?

Mihu Takes a Chunk from Grafton

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Cristian Mihu
Cristian Mihu

Cristian Mihu (pictured) and Sam Grafton tangled in a big pot where we joined the action on the river. With 180,000 in the pot, Cristian Mihu led for 95,000 on the board of {K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}. Sam Grafton called it off, but he was wrong to do so - Mihu turned over {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades} for the flopped full house.

Mihu overtakes Grafton, then, but by our estimation, Shah Raza has the lead by around 80,000 chips or so. There's very little in it.

Kevin and Kara Power Through

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Kara Scott
Kara Scott

Kevin Allen has started off on the attack and rightly so, he's one of the shorter stacks. Starting play with less than twenty big blinds, he's shoved through the players at his table either post or pre-flop three times in the first orbit.

Elsewhere, on the feature table, Kara Scott moved all-in for 270,000 on the dealer button over-the-top of Shah Raza's opening bet to 35,000 from the cut-off. That got through, but not without a moment's hesistation from Kara when she realised that for the first time in the tournament, her being all-in and at risk was not done with her wearing her bounty hat. Raza folded and Kara got here hat back!
