In 90 minutes from now, the second of four starting days of the 2017 888Live Poker Festival Barcelona �220 Opening Event gets underway as of 6 p.m. local time at Casino Barcelona. Yesterday's first flight exceeded the expectations and put the tournament well on track to not only meet but crush the guarantee of �100,000, as 194 entries took to the felt. Only 34 of those hopefuls made it through to Day 2 on Sunday and all less fortunate players can re-join the action today.

All participants receive 30,000 in chips and a total of 14 levels of 30 minutes each are scheduled to conclude the day at approximately 3 a.m. local time. Two re-entries are allowed during the registration period until the end of level 11 and a 60-minute dinner break is scheduled to take place after the end of level six. The chip leader thus far is Sergio Alonso Camunas with massive 455,000, more than 15 times the starting stack and worth 75 big blinds for the start of Day 2. Jaime Victor Soler Puig holds second place with 389,000 while Giovanni Cauteruccio follows in third with 275,000. Among those that made it through in their first attempt were also Francois Evard (209,000) and EPT13 Barcelona 7th place finisher Harcharan Dogra Dogra (163,000).

A �45+5 Turbo Satellite for Day 1b of the Opening Event kicked off half an hour ago with 10 seats guaranteed and the registration closes at approximately 5.45 p.m. local time. For all poker enthusiasts that just want to enjoy a one-day tournament, the �80+8 "The Thunder" Side Event kicks off at 8 p.m. local time with levels of 25 minutes each and two re-entries available. All players receive 15,000 in chips and the guaranteed prize pool is set at �10,000.
