Darkhan Botabayev was in danger of slipping into the great beyond -- tournament elimination. After Josh Ang opened the button with a standard raise, Botabayev moved in from the big blind for 176,000 more. Ang seemed pained by his decision.

"You want your chips back?" Ang asked. He then threw a call into the pot and turned over a hand he had to know was behind, {Q-Spades} {9-Spades}. Botabayev showed {A-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} and was dismayed to see a nine flop, {9-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {j-Clubs}. But he was saved by an ace on the turn {A-Hearts} and another on the river {A-Spades}. He doubled up to about 370,000.
