Heads-Up (Yang Zhang and Huidong Gu)

Heads-up just started here in the 2019 Pokerstars APPT Jeju Main Event. If you try to find a fastest rundown from seven players down to the heads-up, it will be really difficult.

It took just about half a level, after Tae Hoon Han's bust in seventh place, until the event reaches in the heads-up. Both players are playing fairly deep, and we might see a long battle.

Let the game begin!

Another hand, another big pot in the final table of the Main Event. Duc Trung Vu is the last player who busted with a big stack in the final table, benefiting the players who have a lot smaller stacks and are climbing up the ladder of pay jumps.

Duc Trung Vu opened from the cut-off, and Huidong Gu defended from the big blind. The flop came {5-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and Huidong Gu proceed with a check-raise, after Vu's cbet.

Vu called and the {q-Spades} fell on the turn, prompting Huidong Gu to bet 610,000. The Vietnamese player went deep into tank, and the clock had to be called by Zhang Mengyin. The director arrived at the table and literally the last second of his available time, Vu said "Call."

The {5-Spades} completed the board on the river and Huidong Gu announced all in with Vu going again into tank. This time he decided faster, and he threw hard a couple of chips into the pot to indicate the call, as if he knew he was losing.

Gu opened {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}, and it was enough to win the pot, as Vu hero-called with {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}.

Tae Hoon Han started the final day as chip leader but he lost it all in a huge bluff he pulled during 7-handed play. Han min-raised from the button, Yang Zhang called from the small blind, and they saw heads-up the flop coming {k-Spades}{9-Clubs}{q-Clubs}.

Yang Zhang check-called a bet at 105,000 from Han and the {2-Hearts} fell on the turn. Yang Zhang check-called again, and this time it was for 345,000 chips, sending the pot to seven figures.

The {k-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, and when Yang Zhang checked, Han announced all in for 965,000. Yang Zhang asked for a count, and as soon as the dealer informed him about the accurate amount he said call!

Han opened {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for a huge three-barrel bluff, while Yang Zhang table {k-Clubs}{j-Spades} for rivered trips! An enormous pot, that could determine the whole tournament, as now Yang Zhang has a commanding chip lead over his opponents.

The Ace That Saves

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Duc Trung Vu was as close as as just two streets to elimination, but he managed to binge one of the three outs he was after and achieve a big double up.

Yang Zhang opened the action preflop with an open to 115,000, and Duc Trung Vu was two seats on his left, three-betting to 340,000.

Everybody else folded, and Yang Zhang announced all in with Vu taking surprisingly long time to call. He did after around three minutes and the two players tabled their hands.

Duc Trung Vu: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Yang Zhang: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

The flop came {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{8-Spades}, and Zhang Yang got closer to bust an opponent and get the chip lead of the final table. The {a-Diamonds} on the turn brought the opposite feelings to both players, and the {8-Diamonds} gave the pot to Vu. A relieving big shout of "Yes" came out of Vu's mouth and he is up to 2.5 million chips
