Some Genuine Threats Emerge

Gary Benson has played a solid game most of the day and has recently got a good run to emerge as the tournament chip leader with three tables to go. He has a big threat at his table though with second in chips Michael Dix also at his table.

If they get in a big pot, it could go well over 300,000.

Nikkaka Doubles, Demetriou Dusted

Nick Kakalis has doubled through in dramatic circumstances.

Kakalis was in a commanding position when the money went in with {A-Hearts}{k-Spades} up against the {A-Clubs}{q-Spades} of Shannon Vandenberg.

That all changed post flop with {6-Spades}{q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} hitting the flop and putting Vandenberg well out in front.

But he hadn't counted on Kakalis catching runner -runner to stay alive. The {10-Clubs} hit the turn and the {j-Diamonds} river to move him back to 54,000 and put a slight dent in Vandenberg's stack.

Andrew Demetriou's stack looks to have been absorbed into Stewart Scott's mountain of chips. We'll see if we can chase up the details.

The Old Guard Strikes Back

Danny Mountt and Andrew Demetriou have both doubled their stacks recently.

Demetriou reshoved over the top of an opponent's short stacked all in move, and then was called for all of his chips by Suzy Khouiss.

Shortstack: {A-?}{7-?}
Demetriou: {Q-?}{Q-?}
Khouiss: {J-?}{j-?}

The board blanked out to pay Demetriou and eliminate the other player. Demetriou is up to 61,900.

Danny Mountt had gone into the tank facing a call for all of his with a flop of {8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{q-Hearts}. In the end he said, "Alright time to go home", before making the call with {Q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}.

He wouldn't be going home though, his opponent had {9-Spades}{10-Spades} and would be drawing to a double gutshot. It didn't arrive with the {Q-Diamonds} turn and {k-Diamonds} river sending 45,000 worth of chips to Mountt.

Dropping Like Flies!

We're losing players at a brutal pace now.

A short-stacked Matthew Pearson shoved at the wrong time, pushing {Q-?}{j-?} into the {A-?}{j-?} of an opponent. He didn't catch up and hit the rail.

Josh Budin went out after an opponent made a rather aggressive move over the top. Budin made the right call with {Q-?}{q-?} and looked good against the {K-?}{j-?} of his foe. All was clear through the {6-?}{6-?}{6-?} flop and turn {8-?}. But he was betrayed by the river {k-?} to be eliminated.

Jonathan "xMONSTERxDONGx" Karamalikis joined the land of the busto, after an interesting flop battle.

On the {7-Spades}{4-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop Chris Brammer lead 3,000 and Karamalikis came back over the top for 7,000. Brammer shoved covering Karamalikis and the Monsterdong made a quick call.

Karamalikis: {4-Clubs}{6-Clubs}
Brammer: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

The {k-Diamonds} turn and {a-Hearts} river were not cards that Karamlikis needed to stay alive, so he was banished to the rail.

Brammer is currently leading the field on 140,000 chips.
