Hawkins bested a field of 250 players to take down the title and the first place prize money of AUD $28,875, defeating Alan Nicholls after an hour-long heads-up battle.

Fred Chaptini open-shipped from the button before the flop for his last 70,000, only to be called down by Alan Nicholls.
The cards were revealed; Chaptini showed but was well behind Nicholls' .
Chaptini found some hope when the flop came down , but the on the turn was the wrong kind of black.
Just one club would do it for Chaptini, but the river ran red in the form of the , eliminating him in 3rd place and we are now heads-up between Nicholls and Rowland Hawkins!
