Tchong Doubles

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Michael Tchong jammed the small blind for 85,000 and Sam Vakili called in the big.

It was Tchong's {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} dominating Vakili's {a-Hearts}{3-Spades} and holding through a {2-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{7-Spades}{a-Spades} run out for the double.

Lee Takes from Spano

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Robert Spano flat-called a raise by Alex Lee and then check-raised the {3-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop to 35,000. Lee called and Spano continued to check-call two streets worth of bets on the {K-Diamonds} turn for 38,000 and the {2-Diamonds} river for 67,000. Lee showed the {A-Clubs}{K-Spades} and scooped the big pot.

Samantha Abernathy had been mostly tight so far, not letting any of the crazy action get to her, and lost a few chips compared to what she started with.

Nguyen Loses; Maximum Payne

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Mark Payne and Minh Nguyen got into a preflop raising war that eventually saw Nguyen shove in for almost 150,000 and Payne call it off with the {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}.

Nguyen was racing for his tournament life with the {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}, but could not hold on a {10-Spades}{j-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{a-Hearts} run out that made Payne not one, but two bigger pairs.

Payne now has a massive lead 11 handed.

Spiess Eliminated

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Hubert Spiess lost most but not all of his chips in a big hand against Michael Frasers full house and then doubled up a tiny stack. Just now he was all in for only 13,500 from the big blind. Stewart Davidson and Robert Spano called before the former then announced all in after the flop {A-Spades}{10-Spades}{6-Spades}.

Spano folded and Spiess turned over his {5-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, while Davidson had {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for two pair. It was all over after the {6-Hearts} turn and the meadningless {7-Diamonds} river just a formality.

Mason Feels the Payne

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

On the flop {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Spades}, Mark Payne bet 20,000 from the small blind and Ashley Mason called in the big blind. On the {8-Diamonds} turn it was 32,500 to go and again Mason called before the {2-Diamonds} river triggered another value bet by Payne. Mason called it off and mucked when he was shown the {6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}.

Mason and Lee Double

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Ashley Mason got the remainder of his stack in with the {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} on the {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Clubs} turn. There were about 70,000 chips in the pot and Don Mishra looked him up out of the small blind with the {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} only to see the river blank.

Over on table 35, Alex Lee four-bet shoved from the cutoff for 137,000 and Michael Fraser called from the button after having three-bet to 36,000.

Lee: {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
Fraser: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

The board {10-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{8-Spades}{K-Spades}{J-Spades} gave Lee a flush and he doubled up.
