Peck Rips It In

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante
Austin Peck

William Yarosh limped from under the gun and action folded to Corey Zedo, who raised to 2,600 from the cutoff. Austin Peck was in the small blind and called. Matt Livingston then found action on him in the big blind and he three-bet to 8,100. Yarosh and Zedo folded.

Peck announced he was all in for what was totaled to be 59,100 and Livingston thought for about a minute before folding.

"Good fold, Matt," Peck said as he collected the pot.

In the meantime, Zach Gutierrez was eliminated from the tournament and has since rebought.

Ajayi Out and Back In

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

"I have five seats on Table 8," said the dealer as Dapo Ajayi's seat had been vacated. Jon Cohen was in the process of stacking chips and according to tablemate Steve Wilkie, Ajayi opened to 2,200 from the button and was three-bet by Jon Cohen to 15,000 out of the big blind.

Ajayi went into the tank for a while before going all in for around 30,000. Cohen quickly called.

Dapo Ajayi: {j-}{j-}
Jon Cohen: {q-}{q-}

Ajayi was unable to improve on the runout and was eliminated from the tournament. He has since rebought and been seated at a new table.

Livingston Bluffs Heine; Kurtz Dusted

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante
Matt Livingston

Thomas Heine opened to 1,500 from the hijack and was three-bet by Matt Livingston to 5,600 from the cutoff. Action folded back to Heine and he called.

The flop fell {4-Spades}{9-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and Livingston continued for 5,000. Heine thought for a bit and cut out a raise to 13,000. After a few moments, Livingston announced he was all in, cutting out his stack of 36,600.

Heine went into the tank for a bit before letting his cards go. Upon winning the hand, Livingston tabled the bluff, showing {a-Clubs}{k-Spades} as the dealer sent him the pot.

A few hands prior, Kevin Kurtz was knocked out of the tournament by Mitch Lekarczyk. Livingston provided the details, saying that the two went to a flop of {q-}{8-}{3-} with two spades. Lekarczyk then check-raised the turn {6-Spades} and Kurtz called. The river {10-Spades} brought a fourth spade on board and Lekarczyk put Kurtz all in. Kurtz called.

Mitch Lekarczyk: {k-Spades}{q-Spades}
Kevin Kurtz: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}

Kurtz filled up to a flush on the river but Lekarczyk had already made a higher flush by the turn, resulting in Kurtz hitting the rail midway through Level 7.

Itoafa Doubles Through Palazzi

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante
Mike Itoafa
Mike Itoafa

There was around 32,000 in the pot on a board of {4-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{j-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and Mike Itoafa had checked from middle position to Wesley Palazzi in the hijack. Palazzi bet 19,000 and Iotafa check-raised all in for 39,000.

"I didn't get a snap call," said Itoafa as Palazzi spent some time in the tank. Eventually, he threw out the last 20,000 to call.

Mike Itoafa: {j-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Wesley Palazzi: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Iotafa's jacks up were poised to earn him a double versus Palazzi's top pair, top kicker, as long as he could fade an ace to the redraw or a ten to a counterfeited two pair. The river fell {3-Spades} to secure the double, with Iotafa thanking the dealer for not bringing a ten on the river.

"I knew an ace wasn't coming," said Rich Dixon in response to Iotafa, "but I thought for sure I was going to see a ten."

Iotafa stacked his chips, grateful that Dixon was incorrect.

Itoafa Makes a Boss Fold

Level 6 : 250/500, 500 ante

Rich Dixon limped in from under the gun and Zach Gutierrez raised to 1,200 from the hijack.

"Double me up!" he said as action folded around to Mike Itoafa, who was in the small blind. Itoafa three-bet to 7,250 and upon a fold in the big blind, Dixon went all in for 47,700. Gutierrez folded and Itoafa found action back on him. He went into the tank.

"You gonna talk, Rich? You gonna talk?" said Itoafa, remarking about Dixon's stoic posture.

Dixon broke character and burst into laughter. Itoafa was still not convinced one way or the other and eventually had a clock called on him. When time expired, he still was unsure and his hand became dead as a result.

"You show one, I'll show one," Itoafa said to Dixon. Dixon was up for the proposition, tabling {k-Clubs}.

Itoafa showed {q-Diamonds} and asked Dixon to show his other. Dixon gave him a wry look as if he already upheld his end of the bargain and sent his other card to the muck. Itoafa felt that he saw all he needed to in order to know he had correctly folded. He showed his other downcard, the {q-Hearts} to show that he had folded queens preflop.
