Well what an action packed few hours of poker we had here at Commerce Casino. Over 90 players brought in for the invitational, and at the end, Thomas Quigley stood alone at the top as the winner. Quigley, Michael Mizrachi, Tom Kamb, and Ray Henson made a four way chop, with Quigley being declared the official winner.

The mood was light throughout the night, with players kicking back drinks and having fun. Some players brought their best poker face and serious game, while some decided to have fun and gamble it up. No player personified this more then the host, Mr. Mizrachi. Mizrachi played virtually every hand, and towards the end of the tournament, he was shoving most hands. This lead to a ton of eliminations, including back-to-back knockouts of Mike Matusow and David ODB Baker.

The final nine players were all awarded with tickets to The Breeders' Cup this weekend. For some, it was a great thrill to go to such a sporting event, while the established pros at the final table were simply there for the good times and thrills of playing poker. Overall, it was a fun filled night, and turned out to be a success from all accounts.

That wraps it up here at the Commerce Casino! Congratulations go out to Thomas Quigley for being the official winner of the tournament, and to Tom Kamb, Ray Henson, and Michael Mizrachi, who will all be keeping a close eye on the horse races this weekend. Thanks for tuning into Pokernews.com, and good night everyone!

And We Have A Chop

The remaining four players found an easy way to divide up the final prizes. The winner of the tournament was to get a $10,000 bet they could place at the Breeders Cup, so the four agree to chop up that bet and all take even percentages. They did the same with the $1,000 bet that was attached to second.

The technical winner of the tournament is going to be Thomas Quigley, who will be making the bets at the race track. He is the veteran horse bettor of the group, so they felt he was the best person to pick. All four players are currently posing for winners photos.

Quigley Doubles Through Mizrachi

Michael Mizrachi raised to 18,000, and Thomas Quigley was next to act. After 15 seconds of tanking, he moved all in for 110,000. It got back to Mizrachi, and after 10 seconds of talking outloud, he made the call.

Mizrachi: {6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}
Quigley: {a-Spades}{2-Spades}

Amazing, Mizrachi was drawing very live, which given the suckouts he's registered was probably a bad thing for his chances. Indeed, the board ran dry, coming {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{8-Spades}{10-Clubs}.

After that hamd, Quigley is up to 230,000, while Mizrachi drops to 235,000.

On the next hand, Tommy Ball was eliminated, leaving us with five players.

Mizrachi Takes Overwhelming Chip Lead...Again

Richard Lewis, who had secured a couple double ups to get to 120,000, raised it up to 20,000. Michael Mizrachi was next to act, and he moved all in, having everyone else covered. It folded back around to Lewis, and he quickly made the call. Mizrachi joked that he had aces, when in fact he was dominated.

Lewis: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Mizrachi: {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

The flop brought no help for Mizrachi, as it came down {q-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{8-Spades}. Mizrachi asked the dealer for the seven, and of course, the dealer oblidged, bringing the {7-Spades} on the turn. The river brought the {6-Hearts}, and just like that, Mizrachi is over 300,000, and has over half the chips in play.

Helmy Busts, Henson Doubles

Fouad Helmy was all in for his last 7,000 preflop, and was called by Ray Henson and Michael Mizrachi. Mizrachi decided to move all in in the dark, even though it wasn't going to be his turn to act. The flop came down {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}{3-Hearts}. Henson checked, and Mizrachi's bet stood. Henson called, and was well out in front.

Henson: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Helmy: {j-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Mizrachi: {k-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}

Everyone was drawing live untiil the {a-Spades} hit the turn, giving Henson an unbeatable hand. The river was the {6-Clubs}, and Helmy was sent to the rail, while Henson got a much needed double up.
