The action continues at the EAPT Madrid at Casino Gran Via with Day 1b of the �560 Main Event set to begin today at 1:00 p.m. local time.
Yesterday's Day 1a flight consisted of 36 entrants with just five players finding a bag at the end of the night. Anonymous player Luigi holds the overall chip lead so far after bursting the money bubble yesterday to finish the night with 413,000 chips, while Matthew Gray is hot on his heels with 394,000. Today, a new group of hopefuls will aim to emulate their success and bag big for Day 2.

Two more starting flights are scheduled to take place today. After Day 1b, which features 40-minute levels, there will also be a turbo Day 1c featuring 20-minute levels beginning at 8:00 p.m. local time. Players can reenter once per starting flight and late registration will be open until the end of Level 9 for both Day 1b and Day 1c.
Both starting flights will play down until 15% of the field remains, at which point all remaining players will advance to Day 2 and be in the money.

With six players to start the day, cards are in the air for Day 1b of the Main Event.
With three players seeing a board of K?5?4? and roughly 2,000 already in the middle, action checked around to a player on the button who bet 1,300 and received calls from Chadi Akremi in the small blind and a player in the big blind.
The button bet again when checked to on the K? turn, this time for 4,700.- Akremi called while the big blind got out of the way.
Both players checked the 9? river. Akremi turned over 5?2? for kings and fives and his opponent promptly mucked.
Dario Bagattini and Marian Dicu are also among those who registered for the tournament at the start of the day.

A player in the cutoff opened to 700 and received calls from a player on the button, Friciu Claudiu in the small blind and Marian Dicu in the big blind.
All four players checked the J?8?3? flop leading to the Q? turn. Claudiu bet 1,200 and was called by Dicu while the cutoff and button got out of the way.
Claudiu bet 1,000 on the K? river and was once again called by Dicu. Claudiu showed down K?Q? for two pair to take down a decent early pot.

A player in middle position limped in before Chadi Akremi raised to 900 from the hijack, receiving calls from players in the cutoff and small blind as well as the initial limper.
Action checked around to Akremi who bet 2,100 on the K?10?8? flop. The cutoff folded, the small blind called and the initial limper folded.
Both remaining players checked the 7? turn leading to the 9? river. The small blind checked and Akremi sized up with a bet of 10,000 into the pot which was approximately 8,000. The small blind declared that he had two pair and went into the tank. After about two minutes he folded 9?8? face up and Akremi took down a healthy pot without showdown.

A player in the hijack opened to 700 only for a player in the cutoff to three-bet to 2,500. Marian Dicu called in the small blind, Javier Romero called in the big blind and the original raiser called as well.
All four players checked the 9?5?3? flop leading to the J? turn. Dicu bet 2,500 and received calls from Romero and the hijack while the cutoff folded.
The three remaining players checked the A? river. Dicu was the first to turn over 8?7? for a missed straight draw. After a moment, Romero mentioned that he had a three, turning over 4?3? for bottom pair. The hijack mucked and Romero took down a sizable pot.
