Chips Even Up After More Suckout Drama

Langmann: back in the game
Langmann: back in the game
Florian Langmann, incredibly, is up over a million in chips after two hands saw all-ins resulting in double ups for a change. He took 200k from Tony G, then, the action bug clearly catching on at the final, played a big pot with Randy Dorfman, who took his turn in the outdrawn chair:

On a flop of {K-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {5-Hearts}, Langmann bet out 60k. Dorfman went all-in and Langmann considered his 500k. He made the call with {K-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}. Having called his whole stack off, the last thing he wanted to see was {A-?} {K-?}, and that's precisely what Dorfman had.

The turn brought the {Q-Clubs} though, and the river an irrelevant {9-Hearts}. The rail shook their heads and I heard Roberto Romanello say, "I've never seen more suckouts than this final table!"

"You're Going to Need a Tandem Bike!" William Thorson and David Eldar Bust (6th and 5th)

Thorson: always there or thereabouts in these big tournaments
Thorson: always there or thereabouts in these big tournaments
The sickest hand of the High Rollers tournament just eliminated two players and made the crowd gasp as one at the cruel twists of the game they love.

Short stack William Thorson could have picked a better spot to move all in preflop, as not only did Randy Dorfman go all in with him, but so did David Eldar! Threeway on-their-backs moment:

Thorson: {7-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds}
Dorfman: {7-Spades} {7-Hearts}
Eldar: {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}

The flop: {K-Spades} {Q-Spades} {J-Clubs}

Another set for another pair of queens for David Eldar. It was starting to look like pay-ja vu when this happened:

Turn...{A-Spades}...River...{5-Spades} ! A fourflush on the river busted both shorter stacks and made a new giant stack for Randy Dorfman.

"You're going to need a double bike!" said Tony G.

William Thorson finished in 6th place, winning 99,000.
David Eldar finished in 5th place, winning 138,000.

Today, 'G' is for Gamble

Tony G: ready to gamble
Tony G: ready to gamble
The big stacks clash in an interesting hand. Tony G raised to 41k after it folded to him on the button. Vanessa Rousso, in the small blind, reraised to 100k. He made the call quickly.

The flop came {7-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}. Rousso bet out 180k. "All in," says Tony. Then, "I love it! Let's gamble!" This was a huge bet. After a think, Rousso passed. Tony G showed her the {7-Diamonds} ...

Feldman Felled - Finishes in 7th Place (79,000)

Who Eldar-es Wins
Who Eldar-es Wins
Preflop Tony G raised to 40k and short stack Andrew Feldman pushed all-in from the cutoff for 160k. The crowd looked back to Tony G, but it was small blind David Eldar who went into the tank. Eventually he announced, "Call," and Tony G let it go.

Feldman showed {A-Spades} {10-Diamonds} and was up against {Q-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}. A third {Q-Diamonds} popped out instantly on the flop, followed by {5-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {7-Spades} {7-Diamonds}.

Feldman exited to the commiserations of some railers, who hadn't really had time to warm up properly yet.

On the Second Hand David Steicke Finishes in 8th Place (60,000)

Steicke: unstuck
Steicke: unstuck
Early action here at the High Rollers final table - there's a huge disparity between the haves and the have-nots, and one of the shorter stacks, David Steicke has just been busted, right when he thought he was going to move from the latter to the former category.

Randy Dorfman raised preflop to 32k, it was then reraised to 92k by his neighbor Steicke. While Steicke was counting out the chips, Tony G gave him a warning, "Whoa! You want to get involved early? You're gonna get 'biked'!"

How true his words were. Dorfman moved all in and Steicke snapped him with {K-Spades} {K-Diamonds} . Dorfman held {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}.

Flop: {10-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} {7-Spades}
Turn: {A-Clubs}
River: {4-Clubs}

"Ah well," said a resigned Steicke. He'd satellited into the High Rollers event, and after making the money (reserved only for the final table) at least leaves in profit.
