Colman Cold Four-Bet Bluffs

Level 21 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Hand #126: Kurganov opened the button with {Q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} for 200,000. Cates in the small blind had {A-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and three-bet to 600,000. This forced out Richard Yong in the big blind, and Kurganov folded as well.

Hand #127: Cates opened the button with {K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for 200,000. Colman in the big blind made the call and saw a flop with {9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}. {Q-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs} on the flop and Colman checked. Cates bet out 200,000 and Colman instantly folded.

Hand #128: Cates opened the cutoff for 200,000 with the {A-Clubs} and one card that didn't get picked up by the RFID scanner. It was enough, all other players folded and Cates took it down. We'll never know what the other card was, but does it matter?

Hand #129: Cates got a walk in the big blind holding {J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}.

Hand #130: Colman opened under the gun with {Q-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for 200,000. Yong shoved allin for 1,200,000 total from the big blind with {K-Spades}{7-Spades}. Colman didn't want to invest a million more, and folded.

Hand #131: Kurganov opened under the gun for 200,000 with {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}. Cates on the button had {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and three-bet to 540,000. Yong folded his small blind, but Colman with {5-Diamonds}{4-Spades} in the big blind wasn't so quick to release. He thought about it for some time, and then cold four-bet to 1,180,000.

"His timing is perfect" said commentator Hartigan, "Sick move" added Stapleton. Both players folded. "I don't have enough heart" said Cates with a smile after folding.

Hand #132: Colman completed from the small blind with {8-Spades}{6-Spades}. Igor Kurganov in the big blind had {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and made it 320,000. Colman instantly folded, Kurganov took it down.

One for Cates (full)

Level 21 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Hand #125: Daniel Colman raised to 240,000 from the button and Daniel Cates called from the big blind with the {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. The {8-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop brought two checks, and the {8-Spades} turn did the same. Cates bet 220,000 on the {Q-Diamonds} river, and Colman released his cards.

Rono Lo Eliminated in 5th Place (493,340)

Level 21 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante
Rono Lo
Rono Lo

Hand #124: Cates opened for 200,000 under the gun with {10-Spades}{7-Spades}. Lo shoved 1,260,000 from the button with {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. Kurganov in the big blind had {A-Spades}{J-Hearts} and made the call, Cates folded.

The flop brought a bit for both: {A-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}. Igor Kurganov hit top pair but Lo flopped the flush draw. The {4-Diamonds} on the turn was a red card, but not a heart. "Kurganov has just one more card to fade" said commentator Joe Stapleton.

Kurganov succeeded in that mission: {Q-Spades} on the river.

With that final card Rono Lo exited in 5th place for 493,340. The remaining four players are now guaranteed 637,600.

Small Pots and a Walk

Level 21 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Hand #120: Colman on the button raised it up with {Q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}. Cates in the big blind had {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and called. The flop came {3-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and Cates checked to Colman. Colman, the chip leader, continuation bet 325,000. Cates made the call.

The {2-Hearts} fell on the turn and Cates checked again. Colman fired a second bullet, this time 720,000. Cates folded instantly and Colman was up to 6 million just like that.

Hand #121: Rono Lo shoved allin under the gun for 1,240,000 with {J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. Everyone folded and Lo took down the blinds and antes.

Hand #122: Kurganov opened the cutoff with {5-Spades}{4-Spades} for 200,000. Yong shoved allin for 1,080,000 with {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}. Everyone, including Kurganov, folded and Yong grabbed some new much needed chips.

Hand #123: Colman got a walk in the big blind with {4-Spades}{2-Diamonds}.

Five More Hands of Varying Degrees of Interest

Level 21 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Hand #115: Richard Yong moved all in under the gun with the {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and took down the blinds and antes.

Hand #116: Rono Lo raised to 300,000 under the gun with the {6-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and won the pot.

Hand #117: Daniel colman opened for 200,000 under the gun with the {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and Rono Lo defended the big blind with the {4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. Lo checked, Colman bet 180,000, and Lo folded.

Hand #118: Rono Lo raised to 255,000 from the small blind with the {10-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and Daniel Colman moved all in from the big blind with the {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. Lo folded.

Hand #119: Richard Yong moved all in from the cutoff and won the pot.

Paul Phua Eliminated in 6th Place (385,000)

Level 21 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante
Paul Phua
Paul Phua

Hand #113: The first hand after the break it was Igor Kurganov who raised it up to 210,000 with {A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} under the gun. He took down the blinds and antes as everyone folded.

Hand #114: The second hand after the break saw Phua shove all in for 1,280,000 under the gun. Action folded to Daniel Colman in the small blind who asked how much it exactly was. He then called and Korganov folded his big blind.

Phua showed {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and had to battle it out with Colman's {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}. He still had 42% but wouldn't make his hand. The {10-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop improved Colman but Phua did now have a gutshot. The {7-Clubs} on the turn gave him an extra card to hit, but the {K-Diamonds} on the river wasn't the one he needed.

Paul Phua was eliminated in sixth place, taking home 385,000. The remaining players are now guaranteed 493,340.

PokerNews GPI Update Episode #16: Negreanu Plummets

Level 20 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Daniel Negreanu plummets in the GPI
Daniel Negreanu plummets in the GPI

Daniel Negreanu plummeted out of the top 10 of the Global Poker Index this week, and Rich and Eric discuss that along with a bit of shakeup in the 2014 GPI Player of the Year race.

The two also offer a little advice for the Fantasy Poker Manager game on Facebook. This week's "buy low" candidate is a very familiar face, and the "sell high" is a favorite of the duo with a very big price tag.
