Welcome to Day 1 of the 2020 PokerStars EPT Online $5,200 Main Event

The inaugural 2020 PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Online is on the home stretch and the highlight of the entire festival awaits with the start of the highly-anticipated $5,200 NLHE 8-Max Main Event. One hour prior to the start at 1.05 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) , more than 270 players were already registered for the flagship tournament which comes with a guaranteed prize pool of $5,000,000.

Included in the field will be several PokerStars ambassadors such as Fintan "easywithaces" Hand, Ben "Spraggy" Spragg, Mikhail "innerpsy" Shalamov, Kalidou "KalidouSow" Sow, and Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis. Each of them will likely battle against one if not more high stakes regulars, all in the hunt for a massive payday and the EPT winner's trophy that awaits the champion three days from now.

As usual, the Main Event of an online poker festival on PokerStars comes with a slow and quality structure, giving each participant 250,000 in chips and levels of 30 minutes each. Day 1 will conclude upon completion of level 15 and the late registration will remain open for 24 hours, lasting until five minutes prior to the restart of Day 2 on Monday, November 16th, 2020, at 1.10 p.m. EST (EST).

While the biggest names in the world of online and live poker are expected to take a shot, more than 120 entries are still guaranteed in MTT satellites today to give players a chance to qualify for a fraction of the entry cost. One hopeful to participate for free is PokerNews #EPT4Charity Contest winner Jay "Blackoid" Kennedy from the UK, who will donate 10% of his winnings to CLIC Sargent UK.

Day 2 will resume the following day with blinds at 6,000/12,000 and a running ante of 1,500, and the money bubble will burst then as the field plays down to the final 72 contenders. On Day 3, the action resumes at 1.05 p.m. EST and play down to the nine-handed final table before a champion is then crowned on Wednesday, November 18th, 2020. The final three days will also be streamed on the PokerStars YouTube and Twitch channels with cards-up coverage and commentary provided by Joe Stapleton and James Hartigan.
