Bumper Field Expected for Day 1b of the 2022 PokerStars EPT Monte Carlo �5,300 Main Event
The return of the PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) presented by Monte-Carlo Casino? is destined to be a stunning success based on the numbers of early events and the turnout of the flagship tournament of the stop on the French Riviera. Yesterday's Day 1a of the 2022 EPT Monte Carlo �5,300 Main Event drew a field of 419 entries and that puts the marquee tournament on track for potentially setting a new record at Le Sporting Monte-Carlo.
Nearly �2.3 million in prize money has already been collected and that number is expected to increase significantly with the second flight scheduled to get underway at noon local time. Poker enthusiasts from near and far are expected to take their seats in the Salle des Etoiles, which will also feature live-stream action from the final table of the �100,000 Super High Roller at the same time as well.
All participants receive 30,000 in chips to begin with, which is good enough for 300 big blinds in the first level at blinds of 100-100 and a big blind ante of 100. A total of ten levels of 60 minutes each are scheduled with a 20-minute break every two levels and a 75-minute dinner break upon completion of level six.

A maximum of two entries are allowed for each players and some contenders already exhausted that limit in the first flight already. All others who came up short of bagging and tagging for the night on Day 1a can enter once more and try to run up a stack. The late registration will officially close prior to the start of Day 2 on Wednesday, May 4, 2022.
At that time, all survivors of the two starting days will combine to one field and recommence the action at blinds of 1,000-1,500 and a big blind ante of 1,500. As of Day 2, the level duration will increase to 90 minutes each and a winner will be crowned on May 7, 2022.
All those aiming to take over the chip lead in the tournament today will have to beat the 253,000 of Merijn Van Rooij and the 249,000 of Bruno Volkmann, as the duo tops the leaderboard thus far.
