It's official! The EPT Monte Carlo Main Event has broken attendance and prize pool records.

The 2023 edition attracted 1,098 entries for a prize pool of �5,325,000, which tied as the previous record-holding event. This year's Main Event now has over 1,100 entries and, at the time of writing, the prize pool has reached �5,368,950, with late registration still open until the start of Day 2.

The full numbers will be confirmed tomorrow once registration closes. For now, we know that this is the biggest Main Event ever held in Monte Carlo.

Following an open raise, Mauricio Salazar Sanchez three-bet to 10,000 from the button and then Jozef Cibicek moved all in. Manuel Carvalho called in the big blind with the shortest stack and Sanchez also called. He was covered by Cibicek as players flipped their cards.
