Chen Shoves

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Fady Kamar opened to 125,000 on the button and Andrew Chen moved all in for 1,250,000 in the big blind. Kamar got a count and gave it some thought before mucking his hand.

Incidentally, there have been some discussions but not on the idea of making a deal. The players are currently more interested in potentially changing the length of the levels and making them a little shorter.

Craig McCorkell

Just as some of the chips were being coloured up and the 100k black/red chip was being introduced, Craig McCorkell just played out one of the biggest pots of the tournament.

McCorkell opened to 125,000 preflop on the button and Chen made it 330,000 in the small blind. Fady Kamar got out of the way and McCorkell moved all in, Chen quickly called.

McCorkell: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Chen: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}

"Suits covered as well?" sighed Chen.

The board came {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{K-Spades}{5-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and McCorkell doubled up into the chip lead.

Andrew Chen opened for 100,000 and small blind Leonid Markin moved all in. Craig McCorkell in the big blind re-shoved and Chen got out of the way.

The cards ran out {9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Clubs}. Markin couldnt hit and after a tough couple of levels where nothing went right he was finally felted.

Kamar Wins Again

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Craig McCorkell opened to 100,000 on the button and was called by Andrew Chen and Fady Kamar in the blinds. All three checked the {4-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} flop before Chen led out for 185,000 on the {Q-Hearts} turn. The river was {5-Diamonds} and Chen checked, Kamar bet 500,000 and McCorkell quickly folded.

"Another sick hand," said Chen, "you look so comfortable..."

Chen folded and Kamar scooped up even more chips.

Chen Doubles Through Markin

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Andrew Chen opened for 100,000 and picked up calls from small blind Leonid Markin and big blind Craig McCorkell.

The flop was {8-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}. The blinds checked and Chen continued for 175,000. Markin check-raised him to 350,000 and when McCorkell folded Chen announced all in and quickly got a call.

Chen was on the draw with {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Markin had top pair. The turn {k-Clubs} gave Markin two pair and he was set to eliminate Chen until the river {3-Hearts} completed the flush.

Markins head sunk on to his arm as he saw his chip lead at the start of the day slowly whittled away and now he was in fourth place. Its not over yet though.

All About Kamar

Fady Kamar
Fady Kamar

This last half hour has all been about Fady Kamar. After raising Craig McCorkell off a pot, Kamar has just taken a big chunk of Leonid Markin's stack.

McCorkell had opened to 100,000 preflop and Kamar called in the small blind before Markin three-bet to 250,000 in the big blind. McCorkell folded and Kamar made the call to see a {2-Spades}{7-Spades}{10-Diamonds} flop.

Kamar checked and Markin bet 250,000 - quickly getting called. Both checked the {10-Spades} on the turn before Kamar fired out a big bet of 900,000 on the {J-Clubs} river. Markin folded and Kamar is now the chip leader.

The flop was {9-Clubs}{3-Spades}{a-Clubs} and Kamar check-called and 200,000 bet. They both checked the {9-Hearts} turn and on the river {6-Spades} Kamar check-called a 150,000 bet. Markins {a-Spades}{4-Hearts} lost out to the {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs} of Kamar.
Youre killing me. Markin sighed.

Kamar Doubles Through Markin

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Leonid Markin won the first two hands of the level with raises to 150,000, picking up the blinds and antes. In the third hand, Fady Kamar moved all in from the small blind for 905,000 and Markin tanked for two minutes before making the call.

Kamar: {K-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Markin: {A-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

The board came {8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} to make Kamar two pair to double up. The knock-on effect was that Craig McCorkell took over the chip lead from Markin, the first time the Russian has lost the lead all day.
