1 PM Start for Day 2 of The Malta Poker Festival Grand Event
At an earlier start time than the previous day, Day 2 of the �550 Grand Event during the Malta Poker Festival will kick off at 1 p.m. local time at the Portomaso Casino. The four starting flights collected 1,324 entries and 274 players will return to the tables to try and get into the money stages today. A prize pool of �642,140 has been created by all those entries which easily surpassed the guarantee. The full prize pool details should be released by the organization at some point later today.
Starting the day with the overall chip lead is Day 1c player, Dario Comitini with 480,000 in chips. He is followed by Mateusz Wozniak, Mehmet Ongorur, Eviatar Mor, and Michel Vat. Borge Dypvik and Nicolaj D��Antoni reached the final table last year and are the only players left who can try and do that again as the defending champion, Emanuele Onnis was eliminated during the latter stages of Day 1c.
Other big stacks and familiar names include Luca Sebastiani, Dario Marinelli, Chris Da-Silva, Thomas Lind, Barny Boatman, Andreas Hoivold, Quentin Lecomte, Fabrice Soulier, Antonio Barbato, Andreas Klatt, Jon Kyte, and many more.
Day 2 has twelve levels on the schedule and starts with Level 15 which features a small blind of 2,000, big blind of 4,000, and a button ante of 4,000. Level duration has been increased to 50 minutes each and a break will take place after every three levels. The normal breaks will last 15 or 20 minutes and a 60-minute dinner break is scheduled after the ninth level of play.
