Daniel "centrfieldr23" Lupo Takes Down partypoker US NetworkOnline PKO Series Event #6 for $3,658
Friday night saw a $109 buy-in version of the partypoker US Network PKO Online Series. The tournament featured a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool, which was exceeded by more than 20% as 121 entries played down to one, where Daniel "centrfieldr23" Lupo found himself as the last man standing.
Lupo won a first-place prize of $1,709 plus another $1,949 in bounties with the Bounty Booster PKO Format in play, bringing his total earnings for the tournament up to $3,658. Shortly after registration closed, Lupo was in the top half of the chip counts with 25 players remaining and 13 set to get paid.
By the time the bubble burst, his stack had largely remained unchanged, dropping him to the bottom half of the counts momentarily. However, the blink of an eye later saw the final table of nine reached, with Lupo second in chips behind eventual runner-up "BelblixteredOG".

Lupo quickly became the chip leader, though "BelblixteredOG" and "Lanfeust" also took their turns atop the counts for a short moment as nine players became six. Then, Lupo pulled away, becoming the first player in the tournament to surpass 1 million, and only further climbing from there as he eliminated "Lanfeust" and Clayton "claytonfletcher" Fletcher to bring the number of players left in the field down to four.
Shortly thereafter, "triplewham42" busted in fourth after their jacks were unable to hold against the ace-four of "BelblixteredOG," and three-handed play only lasted for a couple of minutes before the short-stacked "bertdoggy" lost a coin flip with pocket sevens to Lupo's king-jack in an all-in preflop scenario.
Lupo then took more than 80% of the chips in play into a heads-up match that lasted for less than five combined minutes, though the length of the match was doubled due to a break at the :55 of the hour. Shortly upon play resumed, stacks got in on a paired board as Lupo called an all-in shove with a middling two pair on the river to see his opponent turn over a busted straight draw, earning him the victory.
That sums up PokerNews Friday night coverage of the partypoker US Network Online PKO Series. Be sure to come back Saturday at 7:30 p.m. for Event #7, featuring another $109 PKO Bounty Boost with a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool.
