Congratulations to "audidriver", Winner of Event #8: $25K GTD 8-Max PKO for $7,489

The partypoker US Online Series is now getting down to the last of the events and another champion has been crowned in Event #8: $25K GTD 8-Max PKO. A total of 65 runners showed up for the penultimate event and when the dust had settled it was "audidriver" dubbed as the champion, taking down $7,489 for their victory.

An eventful tournament saw one player heat-up during the final table and that clearly was "audidriver", who accumulated five bounties in the last table. They also added their own bounty to their total bounty prize, collecting $3,509 for their first-place finish and $3,980 for their bounty total.

The heads-up portion of this event saw "Cara2Cacra" as the shorter stack and it was not long before all of the chips were in the middle. "audidriver" opened from the button with johnnies and "Cara2Cacra" shoved with nines, an shove that was instantly called by the champ. The cards ran out clean for "audidriver" who was crowned as the champion of the second-last major event of this partypoker US Online Series.

Action of the Day

The second last major tournament of the partypoker US Online Series saw a total of 65 players show up, compiling a less than sought-after prize pool but luckily the guarantee of $25,000 saw some great money jumps. Many well-known players showed up but failed to register a cash and that list included Brian "TopCreature" Sherrier, Danil "leinad" Buzgon, Ryan "simlSgg" Hagerty, and Ramon hoodrathings Liriano Jr.

Once the late registration period had ended, only 16 remained with the top 12 finding at least a min-cash. That moment took just a matter of minutes and unfortunately for "Livthanwen", they were dubbed the official bubble, losing with king-queen versus the dead man's hand of "acwhoosher". All players were then in the money, shortly after it was the final table, and "Cara2Cacra" was sitting atop the leaderboard.

The first elimination of the final table ended up being a double, dropping both "Unclebro" and John "Slapshot1085" Forlenza when they ran into the pocket queens of "audidriver" who landed a flush on the river to take down the massive pot which included two bounties.

On the very next hand, "audidriver" shoved their monster stack into the middle, and action folded around to "JayOnRiver" who called after a moment of thought. "JayOnRiver" tabled ace-queen and was ahead of the nine-eight of "audidriver". Two eights landed on the runout, giving the red-hot "audidriver" another bounty, dropping "JayOnRiver" in sixth.

"MortySmith" found themselves on the short-stack and elected to shove the button with queen-three. Chris rumpthumper White was the only player to hook them up, tabling his ace-four. A turned queen gave "MortySmith" the lead but an ace on the river cemented it for White and "MortySmith" was eliminated in fifth place.

White took their newly acquired chips and instantly pushed them into a different stack, one that was owned by the eventual champ. White shoved the dead man's hand when he was on the button and none-other than "audidriver" called, holding queen-nine. A turned nine scooped the pot and White was eliminated, shipping yet another bounty to the leader. Anthony "Flawlessbinkage" Maio was next to take an exit when he shoved snowmen into the queens of "Cara2Cacra". A flopped queen ended up being more than enough to scoop the pot, dropping Maio in third place.

The heads-up portion of the event was short and sweet. "audidriver" opened from the button and "Cara2Cacra" shipped with their pocket nines. "audidriver" called, holding johnnies and the board ran out clean. "audidriver" was dubbed the official champion and "Cara2Cacra" had to settle for a respectable total prize of $4,174.
