Event #6: $15K GTD 8-Max NLH

Day 1 Completed

"jerseyman99" Wins partypoker US Network Online Series Event #6: $15K GTD 8-Max NLH for $4,512

partypoker US Network Online Series Event #6: $15K GTD 8-Max NLH came to an end early Thursday with "jerseyman99" running his way to the finish line for the first-place prize of $4,512.

The sixth event saw 15 players start the tournament with that number steadily increasing throughout the registration period as "jerseyman99" outlasted a field of 94 entries at $215 apiece.

The 94 total entries generated a total prize pool of $18,800 that would be paid out to the top 16 players.

Once registration ended, only 32 players remained and that number quickly dwindled as "Bluehaven" bubbled the tournament at the start of Level 22, leaving the remaining players in the money.

From there, players started dropping by the wayside as Brian TopCreature Sherrier (16th place - $316.78), Event #4 Champion Orson "borgatcha" Young (12th Place - $413.60), and "xxx6395200xxx" (9th Place - $517), all got a piece of the pie but fell short of the making final table.

Final Table Action

In Level 25, Alex JinYang Butcher was the first to fall in eighth place, and "Rikishi" fell shortly after in seventh place.

The next level saw a flurry of eliminations happen when John "Slapshot1085" Forlenz, "Cara2Cacra" and "mia1223" all fell, leaving just three players.

Once three-handed action started, Hohner held the chip lead over his two opponents and while the chips shuffled around, Hohner fell in third place after he jammed into "jerseyman99's" pocket queens.

The heads-up battle saw "jerseyman99" hold over a 4:1 chip advantage and they made quick work of "Cholie" sending them home in second place.

"Cholie" Eliminated in 2nd Place ($3,158.40)

In Level 29 (18,000/36,000/4,500), "Cholie" raised all in for 407,436 preflop and was called by "jerseyman99".

"Cholie": {k-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
"jerseyman99": {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

"jerseyman99" was ahead with their made hand of nines and the {2-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} flop didn't change a thing.

The turn was bad for "Cholie" as the {9-Diamonds} appeared leaving them drawing dead and the {6-Clubs} river ended their tournament in second place.

In Level 29 (18,000/36,000/4,500), Ryan TheSims Hohner got his last 147,348 stack in the middle and was called by "jerseyman99".

"jerseyman99": {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Ryan TheSims Hohner: {j-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

Hohner was in rough shape but the {3-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Spades} flop kept his tournament hopes alive.

The {10-Spades} turn wasn't much help to Hohner as he needed any jack or six to stay in the tournament.

Unfortunately for Hohner, the {2-Hearts} wasn't the card he wanted to see on the river and his night ended in third place.

"mia1223" Eliminated in 4th Place ($1,797.28)

In Level 27 (14,000/28,000/3,500), Ryan TheSims Hohner limped in from the small blind and then called "mia1223's" 613,934 all in raise from the big blind.

"mia1223": {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Ryan TheSims Hohner: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}

"mia1223" ran into Hohners aces and didn't get any help from the {7-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop ending their night in fourth place.

"Cara2Cacra" Eliminated in 5th Place ($1,391.20)

In Level 27 (14,000/28,000/3,500), "Cara2Cacra" raised all in for 346,834 from under the gun and "jerseyman99" isolated from the small blind.

"Cara2Cacra": {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
"jerseyman99": {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}

"Cara2Cacra" was ahead with their pocket kings and nothing changed after the {q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop.

The {9-Hearts} on the turn was a safe card after "Cara2Cacra" as they just needed to dodge an ace on the river to stay alive.

Unfortunately for "Cara2Cacra", the {a-Clubs} appeared on the river ending their tournament in fifth place.

In Level 27 (14,000/28,000/3,500), John "Slapshot1085" Forlenza raised all in for 285,309 from middle position and "jerseyman99" looked him up from the big blind.

"jerseyman99": {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
John "Slapshot1085" Forlenza: {2-Hearts}{2-Spades}

Forlenza was ahead looking to hold but the feat was easier said than done as the the {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{q-Hearts} flop paired "jerseyman99's" ace.

The {k-Hearts} turn brought chop outs as it put a broadway draw on the board but the {4-Diamonds} dropped on the river ending Forlenza's tournament in sixth place.

In Level 27 (14,000/28,000/3,500), "Rikishi" open-jammed for 166,671 from under the gun and Ryan TheSims Hohner called next to act.

"Rikishi": {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Ryan TheSims Hohner: {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}

Hohner was ahead with his made hand of sixes and nothing changed after the {3-Spades}{9-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop.

The {10-Clubs} turn however, gave "Rikishi" hope with the nut flush draw but the river fell a blank with the {2-Diamonds} ending their tournament in seventh place.
