Day 1 Completed

Ciprian Tutu Wins Run It Up Reno $85 Last Chance Turbo ($2,100)

Level 19 : 10,000/20,000, 5,000 ante

Ciprian "Chip" Tutu made his third Run It Up Reno final table inside of 24 hours, but this time he finished strong with a win for $2,100 in a 100-player field at Run It Up Reno $85 Last Chance Turbo. He topped a final table that included Jaime Staples and "Boston" Rob Mariano of Survivor fame, who was trying to win his second event of the series.

Mariano was crippled in a flip with Jimmy Cappucci right before the final table convened, leaving the former with just over a big blind and the latter as the chip leader. Nonetheless, Mariano managed to outlast Eric Shiarla, who was playing the event after coming eighth in the Main Event earlier.

It looked for a moment like Mariano was going to make a run at it after he more than tripled up with {j-Hearts}{6-Hearts} by flopping top two, but he went bust in eighth not long after that. Run It Up regulars Cappucci and Alex Lavinthal followed him out the door.

That's when the key pot occurred for Tutu with blinds at 8,000/16,000/4,000. Brian "Big Bear" Weinstein shoved it in for 90,000 and Tutu jammed over the top for 130,000. Big blind Zack Brannon woke up with {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} and snap-called. Tutu had {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Weinstein {k-Spades}{7-Spades}. The board ran out {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{a-Clubs}, and Tutu raked in a big pot with trips. busting Weinstein in the process.

Brannon was left under 10 big blinds and busted in short order to Staples, who in turn ran his {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades} into the {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} of Tutu to go out third.

Ace-king was again the ticket for Tutu heads up against Aussie Daniel Levy, who was on his second final table of the day after running deep in the ante only event. Levy limped and then shoved over a raise with {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, but Tutu snapped him off with {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} and held up on the {3-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Spades}{k-Spades}{5-Diamonds} runout.

An ecstatic Tutu collected his trophy and posed for pictures with the Run It Up crew to end the event.

Daniel Levy Eliminated in 2nd Place ($1,400)

Level 19 : 10,000/20,000, 5,000 ante

Daniel Levy completed the blind, and Ciprian Tutu tossed in 25,000 more. Levy moved all in and Tutu snap-called.

Levy: {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Tutu: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

The flop was {3-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Spades}, pairing the board and giving Levy a chance to chop. A {k-Spades} turn left him saying good game until he realized he picked up a spade draw. The river bricked off though with a {5-Diamonds}.

Staples: {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}
Tutu: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

The {4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{7-Spades}{A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} board would see Staples fall in 3rd place for a $910 payday.

Staples: {q-Spades}{10-Spades}

Brian Weinstein Eliminated in 5th Place ($415)

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 4,000 ante

Brian Weinstein pushed all in for around 90,000. Ciprian Tutu looked at his cards and pushed his whole stack of 130,000 in. When action reached Zack Brannon in the big blind, he snap-called.

Brannon: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Weinstein: {k-Spades}{7-Spades}
Tutu: {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}

Tutu got the ace he needed right off the bat as {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} flopped. The turn was a {3-Hearts} and the river an {a-Clubs}, and Tutu doubled through Brannon while sending "Big Bear" to extinction.

Levy Doubles Through Weinstein

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 4,000 ante

Daniel Levy got his remaining 112,000 in preflop with {q-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and was at risk against big blind Brian Weinstein's {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}.

"It's going to be three hearts," Levy said of the flop.

Instead, it was {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{q-Diamonds}, almost as good for him. The {3-Hearts} closed out some outs for Weinstein and the river was a {9-Spades}.

"That's the second time you've done that to me," Weinstein said.

"I run like Jesus in all ins," Levy said. "Maybe it's because I'm Jewish."
