Coming into today's 2021 PokerStars SCOOP-93-H: $10,300 PLO [8-max, High Roller], $1.25M Gtd, Spanish born, Hong Kong based poker pro Ka Kwan "kaju85" Lau was sitting in sixth chip position out of the seven players at the final table. Faced with a tenuous position on the chip counts, Lau instead chose dominance at a brisk three-and-a-half-hour final table, knocking out five of the six remaining players to secure the $263,099.34 top prize over a field of 134 entrants, after a heads-up deal with runner-up "LamassuShedu".

Lau, who has over $1.6 million in Hendon Mob recorded tournament earnings, is no stranger to the PLO streets, with a win in a 2017 PokerStars Championship Macau Omaha High Roller event and a final table at the 2019 WSOP $25,000 PLO High Roller (8-Handed) to his credit. Lau's aggression paid off time and time again at the final table, and the results speak for themselves.

Lau's March to Victory

The majority of the $1,340,000 prize pool was doled out among the final seven players, and at the start of the day, chip leader Joao "vovo_leo" Studart had lofty aspirations, but his final table stay was a short and unsatisfying one, as he found the exit first. After Lau earned a big double through Studart, "LamassuShedu" earned the only knockout that wasn't made by Lau, when Studart called off his stack on the river with the nut flush, only to run into a "LamassuShedu" full house.

From there, Lau went on a tear, knocking out Mark "AceSpades11" Radoja, "terror777727", Andreas "Skjvervoy" Torbergsen, and "TheBrodie5" in swift order, the latter of which came after "TheBrodie5" made a hero call on the river with aces-up on a super wet board. Lau, as was the case throughout the day, had the goods with a full house, and heads-up play was set to begin with Lau holding a 2:1 chip lead over "LamassuShedu".

Although the duo were over 200 big blinds deep, a deal was swiftly made, and a short time later, Lau's bottom set held up against the two-pair and straight draw of "LamassuShedu", netting Lau the honor of SCOOP champion.
