Kovalchuk Gets There

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Katie Lindsay raised to 2,600 from under the gun and got called by Faraz Jaka on the button, the player in the small blind and Vladimir Kovalchuk in the big blind.

The flop came {k-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and Lindsay put out a continuation bet of 4,000 when the action checked to her. Jaka called, the small blind folded and Kovalchuk moved all in for 17,900. Lindsay went all in over the top and Jaka quickly folded.

Vladimir Kovalchuk: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Katie Lindsay: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Lindsay was ahead but not for long as the {2-Diamonds} fell on the turn. The meaningless {4-Diamonds} completed the board and Kovalchuk got the double up.
