Juanda Just Calls

The action folded to John Juanda, who raised to 30,000 out of the small blind. Nick Schulman defended his big blind, and Juanda patted. Schulman drew one.

Juanda checked, and Schulman slid out a tower of chips, betting 108,000.

"I have a really good hand," Juanda admitted. "But I'm just going to call."

Schulman showed {9-}{7-}{4-}{3-}{2-} for a ninety-seven perfect, but Juanda tabled {8-}{7-}{6-}{3-}{2-} for a rough eighty-seven, and won the pot.

The action checked to Wattel, who fired 60,000, and Parker quickly folded. Danzer went into the tank, however.

"I made it," he said, laughing. "Do you bet a ten-seven?"

Wattel shrugged, then re-checked his hole cards. Danzer found a fold, then Wattel shook his head, mucking the winner.

Wattell checked and Danzer fired 45,000. Bright and Wattell both mucked their hands and Bright was left more crippled than he was to start the hand.

Two hands later Bright was all in for his last 5,000 against Mike Wattel. Both players took one and Bright fanned {9-}{8-}{6-}{4-}. Wattell showed {6-}{4-}{3-}{2-} and pulled his card first, a {K-Diamonds}.

Bright looks at his card. "Nope," said Bright. "You win," as he tabled the {A-Clubs}.

Bright will take home $32,080 for his efforts.
