Graydon Slips Early

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

A player opened in early position and was called by Michael Graydon in the hijack. Brian Battistone then squeezed to 2,500 from the big blind and both players called.

Everyone checked on the {j-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop and action checked to Graydon on the {4-Diamonds} turn. Graydon bet 2,300 and both players called.

Action checked down on the {k-Clubs} river and Battistone tabled {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} for a rivered pair of kings.

Graydon showed a lone {8-Clubs} and mucked his hand conceding the pot to Battistone.

Graydon, who was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer earlier this year, was bought into the Main Event by the poker community. You can read more about his story here.

Despite the early hit, Graydon still has plenty of chips relative to the blinds with 45,000.
