Day 3 Action

Today was a fast and furious start and after about two hours of play, they were already down to three tables with the Day 2 chip leader Cherish Andrews still in the lead.

The Day 1 chip leader, Sharma Gargee was the first one eliminated in a bad beat that saw her full house of nines full of kings get beat by Westermanns better full house - nines full of aces.

After losing a chunk to Hof in the previous hand, Tiffany Michelle was short-stacked and went all-in but didnt get lucky and was sent out of the tournament in Level 23. Maria Konnikova followed her a few hands later, getting knocked out in twentieth place.

The ladies made their way over to two tables and by this time Andrews chip lead dominated the others with almost a quarter of the total chips in play.

Exiting the tournament in fourteenth place was Ranae Warren who barely scraped her way into the money bubble with one 5,000 chip in Day 2. Warren worked that back up to end up to finish Day 2 sixth in chips and had a good run before her kings were taken out by Jennifer Lomans aces.

Lexy Gavin was close to making it to the final table but found herself short-stacked and took a chance with an underpair. Unluckily for her, Nguyen had an overpair and the board offered no help and she was eliminated in thirteenth place.

The unofficial final table started with ten players and they were informed that rather than playing down to five as the schedule stated, they would go until only eight remained. Loman was the first to go, getting taken out by Hofs kings.

Siu got a second chance with a big double-up that saw her cracking Hofs aces when she hit a gutshot straight draw to turn her pocket kings into a straight, denting Hofs stack. Siu is here representing New York City and also to spread the word about the not-for-profit charities she founded including pokerforgood.org and muralsforgood.org.

The last one eliminated before play ended for the night was Andrews who ended up with kings in the big blind but a four-card flush on board was her demise and she exited the tournament in ninth place.

Stay tuned to PokerNews for Day 4 coverage on July 2 at 2:00 p.m. in person at the Ballys main stage or on the YouTube stream to watch the remaining ladies battle it out for the top prize of $166,975 and the WSOP bracelet. Blinds will pick back up in Level 28 at 50,000/100,000.
