PokerStars launched its $25 million guaranteed Summer Series on June 7 and it continues running through June 21, by which time 166 events will have crowned their champions. You probably dont need much persuading to play a big poker tournament, but here are five reasons to get involved in the ongoing PokerStars Summer Series.

Youve The Chance of a Massive Score

PokerStars is the worlds biggest online poker site and, as such, tends to have the biggest tournaments. Summer Series has a wide range of buy-ins ($11 to $530) to suit all bankrolls and the tournaments all have juicy guarantees in relation to their buy-in.

Its not only the big buy-in tournaments that give you the chance of winning big. The $11 Summer Series 06: $11 NLHE [Sunday Storm SE] had a $420,743 prize pool that awarded its winner, whoisICM of Sweden, a cool $39,977. Thats a massive sum, especially for an $11 investment. Another such Sunday Storm runs at 8 p.m. CET on June 21.

Towards the other end of the scale, the June 7 edition of the Sunday Million drew in a crowd of 18,354 players who created a $1,835,400 prize pool. This Summer Series edition of the Sunday Million was played as a progressive knockout event and Greeces brianski won it. The Greek grinder netted $82,145 from the main prize pool plus $36,791 worth of bounty payments.

The $530 buy-in Summer Series Main Event, scheduled for 7 p.m. on June 21, is going to be even bigger with $2 million guaranteed to be won. It too will be played in PKO format.
